The SeaCell™ story

In the course of his marketing and sales activities for the smartfiber AG Michael Kohne was repeatedly confronted with a customer wish: „We are looking for a fiber with spa character, which protects and even cares the skin when added to textiles. Of course, they didn’t have to ask twice. He searched and detected the right product: The SeaCell™ fiber with algae. In July 2007, smartfiber AG took over the production, the patents and employees of SeaCell™ in Thuringia. For Michael Kohne the sustainable algae fiber with antioxidants, which gives a well-being feeling with the first contact, was an ideal complement to the fiber range. He kept the name introduced in the textile market and made it quickly known worldwide. His motto: „The textile and wellness industry drools constantly over new products – with SeaCell™ we can score here.“ No sooner said than done.
